I don't think I could have made this point any better:


If you haven't caught any of the Daily Show's coverage of the DNC and RNC, you owe it to yourself to hit the backlog. Despite, or perhaps because of, being a "fake news" show, I have to say that it continues to present some of the most biting, on-point, and informative commentary on the state of modern politics and culture that can be found anywhere in this country. There's a reason so many of my generation turn to it.

This isn't to say that if you don't watch it there's something wrong with you. I'm just saying that I think its popularity, at very least, is a thing worth paying attention to in and of itself.
